Wings & Wheels – Sunday 1st September 2024
The highlight of our community events is the annual Wings & Wheels show. Launched in 2020 as an expansion to our previous Open Days, it was one of the first public events in Guernsey following the lifting of Covid lockdown restrictions and attracted over 2,000 visitors.
The aviation display comprises a wide variety of aircraft, from ultralights and single pistons up to corporate jets, turboprops, private helicopters and the Channel Island Air Search Islander. The hangar is also home to an array of model aircraft which may at times be seen taxiing around the apron. In our carpark, the vehicle display is just as diverse, ranging from the latest Supercars to classic motors, military vehicles and variety of motorcycles from all eras. The carpark is also home to the Chair-O-Plane, a must see for our younger visitors.
A barbeque and ice cream van are on hand every year, and the event continues in our club house with local stalls and activities. Upstairs, cakes are provided by our membership and the bar is open for refreshments throughout the day.
This year, we look forward to welcoming the community for this event again, and will publish car park information and walking routes in due course.
